One-Man Theatre & Cabaret Show
Performer: Solo vocalist/keyboardist
Duration: 45minute, 60 minute & 2 x 45 minute (with interval) formats

1. Audio Requirements

1.1 Microphone

1 x wired or wireless vocal microphone (industry standard preferred: Shure SM58 / Beta 58A or equivalent).

1 x boom or straight microphone stand.

1.2 Vocal Effects Control

1 x reverb on/off footswitch (can be supplied by the performer if the venue cannot provide).

Reverb should be routed via the vocal channel only.

1.3 Instrument Inputs

2 x DI boxes for piano/keyboard (L/R).

Venue to provide balanced XLR lines to FOH and monitors.

1.4 Monitoring

1 x stage monitor with a controllable mix (vocal + keyboard).

Side fill optional but not required.

2. Playback & Video Requirements

2.1 Laptop to Screen

1 x HDMI input from performer’s laptop to venue projector/screen.

Performer can supply HDMI adapter if required (USB-C → HDMI).

2.2 Screen / Projection

Venue to provide house screen or projector where available.

If unavailable, the performer can supply a portable screen, but space for setup must be confirmed in advance.

2.3 Audio from Laptop (if required)

Stereo mini-jack DI or HDMI audio extraction to FOH if playback audio is used.

3. Lighting Requirements

Basic stage lighting cover including:

Warm general wash for performance area.

Optional cool wash or colour effects depending on venue capability.

Simple cueing; no complex sequencing required.

One static look for the majority of the performance with minor transitions at operator’s discretion.

4. Stage Requirements

Minimum performance area: 3m x 2m.

1 x keyboard stand and power supply (performer can supply if needed).

Clear line of sight between performer and audience.

One accessible mains outlet near performance position.

5. Power Requirements

Standard UK/EU/US mains depending on region.

1–2 x power sockets for keyboard and laptop.

All equipment PAT tested (performer can provide documentation if required).

6. Personnel Requirements

1 x sound technician familiar with venue’s system.

1 x lighting technician/operator (can be the same person in small venues).

15–30 minutes sound check.

7. Get-In / Get-Out

Get-in: 45–60 minutes.

Get-out: 20–30 minutes.

Performer travels with: laptop, keyboard, mixer, on/off pedal, cables, lights and portable TV screen (if required.)
